I have to disagree with the prevailing wisdom of getting a cradle. My Bluetooth seems to work fine, and I need not bother with taking it out of my pocket and installing it/de-installing it in the cradle each time I get in/out of the car. However, I never drive far, and prefer not to call people when I am driving, but usually only answer calls. In the few cases when I do wish to make a call, I use the phone book via voice activation system. I just have to remember to affect an English accent when responding.

USA - Have to disagree with you. I tried the bt option and the cradle and the cradle is by far superior and more reliable! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

VA, couldn't agree more and since the cradled phone uses the car's antenna, reception is much better as well. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

I have used 3 different phones now in the car all nikia's 6230 / 6230i / N70 and they all perform excellently on the bluetooth system - again I dont need to use the car/phone as a mobile office & can see the benefits of the integrated cradle system. But, if your not a mobile dependent person then I think the b/tooth system is perfect and for the odd times I venture further than my back yard I have a dedicated charger in the glove box - it takes up less space than the 8 pairs of Mrs MDP's sunglasses 3 hairbrushes spare makeup bag and emergency handbag Shocked Wink

Martin, Nokia N70? Is that the one which folds out to create a full QWERTY keyboard? Is this your latest phone?

I'm starting to look at mobi's for when I get released from Colditz at the end of June. When we get to YOU-KNOW-WHERE we'll need to buy 2 new phones and have decided for obvious reasons to get one cradle fitted and both buy phones from the same manuf. which will share the same cradle.

Anyone have suggestions which phones are good/stylish/nice features etc? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Yes, the only thing that gets in the way is the tree, but that's closer to Lincoln.

N70

This is my current phone ( no cradle ) used on bluetooth.

I will be changing it this month for the new N80 - which has been hailed by every mobile magazine & review as the best smartphone produced to date - period !!

I definately like the look of the N80.

It looks like my pda is going to be relegated to Sat Nav use only. When exactly does the N80 come onto the market MDP? Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

There are a few about now - but the official launch from O2 is the 21st May - or so I was told ....... there are some on ebay allready - but who want to pay approx £500 Shocked they will be free to most on good tarrif/upgrades. It would appear most retailers are expecting them this month. As for the others .. I would say/expect late july or August??

I have been very impressed with the N70.... can't wait for the N80 Very Happy
