Scotland 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black
All Season Winter Tyres

I am looking to replace my tyres with all season winter tyres (I live in the Highlands). The local LR dealer has recommended Hankook 107W costing £185.89 each or Continental X Contact 107Y costing £242.53 each, both tyres have Mud and Snow stamped on them.
Does anyone (particularly from the Scottish contingent) have any experience of these or any recommendations for another tyre. I really don't want to change tyres each spring and autumn hence my requirement fro all season winter tyres. RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2012 Santorini Black

What about Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow don't get M&S they don't work well at freezing temperatures.

I have a set of these for winter use. Are you saying they're okay too all year round?

When i bought my 22's they came with budget tyres, Achilles if memory serves me right. Last winter i used my car without any issue with the 22's on in 3ft of snow. The entrance to my house is a private farm road which is rutted and basically a dirt track, in and around town again no issues at all.

I will not be investing in winter tyres.

My trusty Vredesteins will be going on in a couple of months. 14.5MY SDV6 HSE Dynamic Indus silver/lunar/ebony 20" wheels, InControl, full-size spare, electric tow bar, adaptive xenons, adaptive cruise control, auto main beam assist. Gone: TDV8 HSE; Zermatt silver/ebony, 19" off road alloys, active diff, particle filter, tow pack (it was fun) BMW 730D SE (great car, sadly missed). Ford Focus RS mk2, Ultimate green, lux pack 2, bluetooth. The start of my mid-life crisis.
IN THE GARAGE: BMW i8 - the mid-life crisis continues and it's great fun.

Hello gwdalba
I can highly recommend Vredestine Wintracs, Just had 3 put on my sc, They are winter bias but suitable for all year round and dont suffer from spupid wear. They have multiple industry awards, and are reasonable money

Many disco owners swear by then, they are commonplace in the snowy alps

Aren't they "all terrain" ie for offroad use on rocks and mud rather than all season winter tyres? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

AT's great on a 90 but to noisy, and look silly on a rrs. The walls also to flexible making on road handling a bit pants.

100 quid is a good saving, but will the narrower tyres provide rim protection on a wide wheel?.
