Has anybody got a Sonos system?

I've been toying with the idea of ditching my Bose Wave systems in individual rooms and going for the Sonos. Just wondering if anyone here has got the system and could let me know what they think of it and how it would fit in with my set up?

Cheers

Awesome Thumbs Up I have;

Lounge: ZP90 into my Sony Amp feeding my Bose AM5 speaker system and bi-amped to my Dinning room Celestron Glass Speakers. I also have the CR200 controller and the iPhone/pod dock
Garden: Hidden in the Dinning room I have ZP120 (buitlin amp) Feeding my Bose Freespace Green Speakers
Bedroom: S5 in white, very very nice.
I have all of it pulling music from pc/mac/NAS/internet I use the Napster service £5pm with 3 downloads but unlimited streaming. Internet readio too.... Apart from the CR200 controller, i have the desktop software on my Wifes mac in the Home office and on my iphone and iPad... May even get the new Play3 in black for my office.

Thanks for the reply Very Happy

I was going to ditch my Bose Wave system in the dining room and get the S5 and bridge to go wireless. Whats the sound like out of the S5?

Is it just a case of downloading software for my iMac, plugging in the bridge and the S5, pairing and we are all done?

Cheers!

The Sound fro the S5 is awesome, my friends are shocked when the see just one speaker so pairing must be fantastic!! And it really is easy to setup the wireless as it creates its on mesh.. the longest bit will be the desktop software indexing your music.... contact Kaine on here he is a Sonos dealer GONE** RRS 3.0SC Silver fully loaded Smile - 2020 110 loving it

I looked at the Sonos and found it pretty expensive. In the end i got (this week) the Squeezebox Duet and two portable Booms for upstairs and the kids room.

The Duet streams to my existing Denon amp playing through B & W speakers and the sound is superb. The remote looks like an overgronw iPod with scroll wheel and LCD display with album artwork. Booms are portable and can stream different music to the main Duet.

If youre flush with readies the Sonos system is good too! Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Bradders, if you have an iphone, get ipeng - much better interface and more akin to an ipod - costs £6.99 but worth it. 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic, Corris Grey with contrast Santorini Black Panoramic Roof, lunar interior, privacy glass, upgraded Meridian system, cooled 18 way front seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive xenons, large screen wash bottle.

Gone: 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black, Ivory/Lunar interior, grand black lacquer finish, HK Logic 7.1 Surround, Privacy Glass, Adaptive Xenons, heated steering wheel.

Gone: Jaguar XF Luxury, Pearl Grey, Dove Interior

Does it play DRM purchased songs off iTunes?

Dunno - how can I tell if a download is DRM protected or not? The Squeezebox certainly plays all 26gb of out iTunes library. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

I'd say most stuff purchased more than 12 months ago would have DRM on, when they were made DRM free they went up from 79p to 99p Smile

around the same time Apple dropped DRM, SONOS sorted the link to itunes - it indexes all itunes easily including playlists etc
