You're in a Range Rover for God's sake, push the other traffic out of the way and never stop at traffic lights! That will keep the oil cooler.
Cant risk doing that, after all the threads on detailing, claying and polishing the damn sport, we must all have spent hours on the car and a small blemish on the front from pushing everyone out the way simply wont do!
Yes the forward speed will keep the oil cooler, but i cant see the gearbox being that fragile it would damage simply on tickover stuck in drive, more chance of the brake light bulbs overheating.
I never take either the Disco or RR out of gear unless I am going to stop and park, and never have my FFRR's either,in fact no auto car at all unless parking up, and my cars do some seriously high mileage in very short times.
My last Disco did over 450,000 without any problems until the end.
