Duel Action Polishing Looks to have been made easier

Been lots of detailing and polishing talk going on recently so i thought i would let you know about a new DA product that come about which might be of interest to those who like the shine Cool or been put off by the amount of work it entails

Recently i have been seeing a new format for using a dual action polisher from Meguiars, instead of using a traditional foam pad and polishing compound, Meguiars have developed at microfiber based system which is looking a lot more straight forward than the usual array of foam pads.

Basically you need a DA Machine ( i presume any brand would do), their new range of DA Microfiber Compound polish and DA Microfiber Finishing wax and the corresponding microfiber polishing pads 6" 5" & 3" dependant on what tight areas you'll be polishing (and the recommended backing plates for each pad size)

I have been waiting on a few reviews to see what the pro's think of this and it does seem to be getting good ones so thought i would post it here with a link to a few reviews and launch videos

Product Guide

I think i will end up ordering a few items from this range and giving this option ago, been a DA its less risky than a rotary, and looks to be faster than foam pads via a DA.

Hope it helps, i am not connected to any company in the links, I'm just a cleaning geek Laughing other companies will stock these products so shop around Thumbs Up

Hi Nick,
Thank you very much for the info. Believe or not I still have not tried my machine. The timetable has been absolutely awful for 2 months now and the polishing machine is still unpacked with all the ingredients purchased with it... Since the busy times, I am taking holidays starting this month 25th to drive down to Monaco, so hopefully I will get to use it before the trip. I actually bought 2 pairs of pads, one for me one for NickM! We still need ot arrange a polishing meet! Vadim A.

Because I have just done mine, not sure if it will be soon, but want to try get the wife's car done so might be the excuse I'm looking for to spend another £100

But when I do I'll demo on your car, though 1'x1' section on the bonnet might look a little strange till you do the rest Laughing

Yes I got it, I gave the car a once over later on last year, I found it very easy to use, I just followed the guides online in how to use it, and kept an eye onto when to wash out the pad to stop it clogging with residue

I just used your first compound, not the finishing one for the second stage and I was we'll happy with he outcome, it was in my opinion so much easier and quicker than foam pads etc

I gave the car a clay bar and Deironiser clean prior to doing it to prevent anything been in the paint that could get dragged about

I bought my megs DA (version 2) a few years back from clean your car or polished bliss, and bought the MF system from one of them too, can't remember which

I have the megs DA microfibre kit. Very good results on my black sport

I did have a few problems with the cutting pads separating from the backing foam so I contacted meguirs customer service and they replaced them and they have been fine since then
