2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

new arrival - TDV8 HSE

picked her up today and super impressed. TDV8 HSE 10-plate, Santorini black with ebony extended leather interior + 20" S/C style wheels. A few extra toys bolted on. Came from a 57 plate nearly identical (externally) car with the same beloved engine.

Lookers Park Royal SUPER helpful as always - tweedle-Jeremy and tweedle-James ensuring a super smooth handover.

Immediate impressions are:
1. holy !#%$ the TDV8 feels even better than it did in the MY08 I had before - and that felt GOOD. Coupled with adaptive dynamics and paddle shift now the experience = WOOF. And the sound!!
2. interior is a big step-up and feels very special

smaller irrelevant stuff
3. much easier to park with the reverse camera and super-imposed tram lines
4. they removed the pocket from the front of the seat - d'oh!
5. stereo now accepts USB drive = godsend. Also you can e.g. run Radio through one DVD, DAB through the other, while listening to CD on the main speakers
6. feels very special sitting in the back watching the dvds
7. painless bluetooth integration with a blackberry 9580
8. auto-fold mirrors on locking
9. rear interior lights still don't come on
10. surround cameras provide at least 30 minutes entertainment

Overally seriously impressed (and I was very much in love with my previous TDV8). I look forward to many more miles in this one too!

Pleasure dealing with you both, as ever.

The spec is absolutely spot-on, can't think of anything I'd add or remove. A lucky stroke that we found it that morning.

seriously V8 vs V6 is such a dramatic change.. James tried to convince me the new 3.0 V6 would be sufficient replacement.. my thoughts are, if you have never driven the TDV8 then the 3.0L V6 is a superb car. However if you have driven the TDV8, you will always be left wanting more (especially the sound).

I am tempted to colour code the vents and grill again, and may swap the wheels back to standard 20" - but the S/C are growing on me by the hour, so maybe not. Or maybe I'll get them sprayed graphite grey?

absolutely zero chance! in fairness going off road did no damage to the other one, just superficial stuff that polished out. And boy what a capable machine! But as you mentioned, with a pimped Defender on call (twin shocks and Detroit lockers, for example) why ever would I put the new RRS through that again!
