Site running slow

Martin/everyone else,

Has anyone else noticed the site is running really slowly recently? I know it's not my pc or connection because other internet sites run much quicker.

Screen refreshes are painfully slow. Not wishing to point any fingers but are these random image avatars causing it?

I'd rather have a restriction on avatars and sigs than a slow glitzy site myself. L319 D4 HSE

In my experience it has it's peaks and troughs... I've mentioned a couple of times whether it would be possible to install some more emoticon packs for the forum software. That would cut down on a large amount of calls to external sites.... but we do still need to be able to link to external images of boobies.
