2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

Beware the of the Fun Police.

Just a note of caution to all you lucky people going on the Home of the Legend visit on Friday.

Land Rover (Solihull) have their very own Fun Police manning the security gates on the way in and out of the factory.

Don't be offended when you drive out of the factory gates if they stop you and check the mileage of your Range Rover Sport / Disco 3. As far as they are concerned anyone who drives a Land Rover vehicle is a potential car thief. They could also ask to look in your boot, incase you are trying to pinch a few spare parts. So be careful if you intend swapping bits and pieces on the day. (Reciepts are always a good safe bet)

There is also a 20mph speed limit on site, which they tend to enforce rigorously. A couple of years ago I was driving out after my shift finished. As I approached the gates, the usual Benny Hill look a like sauntered out of his little gate house. I stopped and wound down my window for the customary mileage check and he spoke to me.

"Is this your vehicle sir?"

Yes, I replied.

"Have you worked here long sir?"

Yes, I replied.

"So, you'll have seen the 20mph speed limit signs then sir?"

"Have a safe journey home sir."

VA - You have a point. They can't prosecute anyone for speeding, but with me they can take away my site access priveledge. I would then have to park in the employees car park with the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Vectra brigades. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. haha..
was wondering why the guy at the gate peered in at my dash, i guessed it was to make sure i hadn't covered one of the new RRs' with and tried to pass it off as used one and tank it through the gates..

We can go as fast as we like though on the exit innit.. not like they will remember us for the next time round..
haha.. ill be in a saab anyway, so who cares..
