Along the last few months, i've been reading and reading everything about the RRS, mainly due to the fact that i really want to purchase one. but it has come to my attention that this car is somewhat not the most reliable vehicle in the world, far from it. is it really a heart choice to buy a RRS and not a smart one? keep in mind that this is a £60k CAR... shouldn't it be rock-solid and not the pile of malfunctions that i read everyday?
IS IT REALLY A CAR-MARE to own one??

please excuse and bare my poor english. http://paulomartinsphotography.tumblr.com

Remember that 99% of people don't joint forums like this to praise the car, only when they have issues Wink

This is a relatively small forum, have you seen the BMW ones Shocked

Unfortunately not really the Marque but motoring in general, my friend in Leeds bought a Aston Martin DB9
and it broke down on his way home the first day he had it, another friend in Knightsbridge the same with a Bentley GT, i THINK JUST THE LUCK OF THE DRAW AND WHAT'S MEANT TO BE IS MEANT TO BE.

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Bought mine in december 2010. MY08 with 14k on the clock.
Problems to date.....
1. Suspension fault developed on collection (as dealer drove it to front of showroom)
2. Front Suspension knocking (now fixed under warranty)
3. Sat nav screen flickering/very dim(restart solves)
4. Drivers front seat started to rock when accelerating and braking.
For such an expensive car it isn't great but i still really like the car.
One thing for sure...It will always have a warranty Laughing

Gilford, i agree with you.
Martin thanks for the topic.

Nik, really it is a list in a few couple of months, obviously i will not chance my mind about buying it, it really is onde of those cases where the heart speaks louder than the brain. of course i'll be dreading the day the warranty runs out. Confused

do you find the 11' model more reliable or the less miles on the clock still make it a bomb who hasn't gone off yet? http://paulomartinsphotography.tumblr.com

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Autobiography Stornoway Grey

I've swapped to an X5 an it's had in the first year and 13000 miles:- 2 tail gate struts, new gear stick, new parking sensor on the front, 2 new windscreen washer pipes and a broken wire for the self levelling suspension. Oh and a keyless access key. One overbight stay in the garage down to the fact I couldn't get back to pick it up before they closed.

Now done 62000 miles and going to get it in for MOT and a health check before the warranty runs out at the end of the month but so far been damn good.

The tyres still have 7mm left after 9000 miles and the swap to winters and will be going back on shortly for the summer.

Only real disappointment is the fact that 6 months on a new set of discs they were warped but replaced under warranty. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

535d m-sport Platinum grey and a few extras.... Gone

X5 3.0 sd in Space Grey, 20's, Dynamic Pack, Memory Pack, Media Pack, Tow Pack, Rear DVD, Panoramic Sunroof, Steps, 7 Seat Pack, Reversing Camera with moving lines, programmable park heat, etc etc etc - Gone

Range Rover Sport Santorini, privacy, dvd, towpack GONE!!!

2 years and a TSB for the driver's seat movement is the only issue. Completely reliable so far. Since I am the only one who has really driven it, I think I am going to extend the warranty at 3 years and keep it until 5.
