I had axle stands under the chassis too. And the jack was bedded through the top layer of gravel and sat snuggly in the sand/compacted sub layer so pretty planted. I agree nit ideal but hobsons choice really, no Tarmac available near office nor house. RRS gone

I'll live without the warm gooey feeling...... I am a city slicker in an apartment, no where to do anything like this and I certainly don't own a suitable jack....or even a paint brush I thought about paint shop but do they know what they're doing with brakes? Don't want them taking them off to do it in case they put them back on wrong |

Use a spray shop that also do accident repairs.
