My RRS replacement

Picked the car up on the 11th Jan so I thought I would share a few pics

2011 X6
3.0D
Alpine white
Chateau leather
Dynamic pack
Media Pack
Aluminium running boards
heated front seats
Privacy glass
20" 259 alloys
aluminium interior pack

as you can see from the pics I had ordered it with the BMW performance spoiler, here it is after its first wash

here it is with the new black centre grilles in the bumper, BMW performance front grilles with the kidneys colour coded and my private plates fitted

Mate you have gone from the nicest shiniest RRS I have ever ever seen to a car which looks good, but nowhere near as gorgeous as the RRS. I have a white Z4, and want to get black grills too. I see where you are coming from in terms of reliability. I am kind of relieved the RRS has gone though.....

Yes Vadim....about a month ago. Well it was 4 years old and nearly 70k miles. Got offered great money for it and I thought it was the right time. I am looking for a new car, even though I have the Z4 now, but want something quite special. if I know what I want....shortlist is

Maser GT
Aston V8
Audi R8
Bentley GTC - had one already buy want a nice one and not a crap one like what i had

RRS would be good, but the knocking worries put me off......hoped they would have fixed it by now

After looking and looking and looking at your pictures, it has now dawned on me, the X6 is just a slightly bigger 5 series GT, just with a varying degree of squashed-ness. I am guessing that BMW are actually fuming they missed out on the car name Fusion from Ford:

5 series GT back
7 series lights
X1 side doors
Old 5 series wheels
X5 / 3 series / new 5 series front
Door mirrors from a bus

is that a hatch back with a lift kit on it.? Gone,,TDV8 arctic frost,black leather,colour coded handles,rear entertainment,sunroof.

2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

We've just ordered an X6 in exactly that spec and my new Sport is coming next week so it will be great to do a back to back photo session and review when we've got them both to compare.
I'm beginning to warm to the shape looks like the top half of a 911 bolted on to an X5 bottom. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I quite like the X6, very nearly bought one a couple of times, but the marmite looks and depreciation put me off big time!

A lad over on Pistonheads reckons that you can buy a brand new white 4.5iS, keep it for 12 months and then sell it to someone in Dubai and actually make money on it

Funny how he hasn't tried it though..............

I saw the TG story and came to the conclusion it must be horrendous but having seen dozens more clips of it offroad and on snow and ice I'm convinced it was a wind up.
It will be very interesting to compare our 2 cars when they arrive to highlight the relative merits. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
