Fitting painted mirror caps to 2005 SC - advice please

Hi all

Before xmas i bought some genuine LR mirror caps painted Java to match my car. Because they are used they have the old adhesive still attached inside, firstly how should i go about removing that without damaging the caps and secondly what's the most suitable adhesive / sealant to use to fix them to my Sport?

LR sell a sealant adhesive @ £26 but i cant help think there are other options for 1/4 the price.

Has anyone done this to their RRS and can offer any advice please?

Thanks

Carl

Use an hair dryer of a heat gun if you have one to get the adhesive tape off the mirror backs, then try and get some good double sided sticky tape or see if your local garage can spare you some tape that they stick number plates on with.

Hi Ady

They must have been stuck on with some sort of silicone adhesive the first time around, there's a slug like hardened glue that will need to be removed before i can use a double sided tape, which i have already.

Will a hair dryer still work?
