United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

I had mine remapped in 2007 (not by these guys). However - never again will I let anyone mess about with my car. Grief! First, she went into limp home mode. Low fuel pressure apparently. LR Assist called to sort. Then, the next morning - one day after my remap (car 6 months old), amber warning light came on. EGR valves needed replaced. 5,000 miles and a newish car? hmmmm. The dealer reset the car's software back to factory settings and all was well. However the £300 I paid for the remap was lost. What a complete waste of money. Don't believe the hype. You won't get significantly more MPG and you won't really notice much in the way of increased performance (you will experience a bit more power but it does not last). If you need more MPG, get a more efficient car. If you want more power, buy a V8 or SC. Mad If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

So you got a monkey to remap yours then? Just about every motor ive had ive had it remapped and never ever had any problems but always had excellent gains, but only by people who know what they are doing and have a good track record with back up support if needed, you obviously didn't, and got bitten, hence my original question at the top of the page, doing my homework first, Cheap isn't usually best alot of people rate bellautos, site sponsers off here which is where i will end up going, thanks for your input though.

Fair enough reply Ady. Its very much horses for courses - you have experienced remaps previosly & look to do it again....just don't cut corners.

This forum has proved invaluable for a few of my decisions....and you done the right thing by asking the question. Muff aint no greenhorn & its his previous posts from way back that have put me off it. The sponsor on the other hand has had a lot of praise.....look forward to hearing a wee positive from your findings.

I've never had problems from remapping cars either, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Never heard of them, but google brings up a little

Based in leeds with a KT post code Confused
Phone number listed to 2 tuning companies
AWS have mentioned leasing a property to them for 5 years (not sure if same address)
Google have a 5* review, the same person reviews loads of others all on 1 Dec 2010 giving neg feedback

Personally I would look towards a more trusted tuner, if I was ever in the market, one with LR experience and based in York, who happens to sponsor the forums, at least if you have issues you'll have somebody to help Thumbs Up

No, I would not let a monkey nor anyone that did not know what they were doing near my cars. I used a nationally recognised organisation. I also had 6 other RR cars done at the same time. Cheap is not in my vocabulary. When I had mine done the car had just cost me £50k. No way would I let a cowboy near this investment to save a few shillings. My experience was not good. I am just sharing this with you. Its your choice if you want to remap your car. I had problems - but please don't make offensive assumptions. I am only trying to be helpful. If the remap messes with the cars software and it all goes pear-shaped, the remap company will not want to know. That's all I am saying. Good luck. Sorry if you thought i was been offensive, it was just a figure of speach, if you used a nationally recognised company then surely they would of tried to put it right just to protect their name, thats why i was asking for information about elite just so i don't make the same mistake as you did, this is a good place for us all to live and learn with all the different experiences, thanks once again.

totally not my experience either

I have remapped most of the petrol cars I've owned with zero issues...... only a poorly put together map will put the car risk.

A map is simply the information that the ECU in the car uses as its defaults/ tolerances, all a re map is doing is modifying those parameters to gain better fuel economy/performance. Granted you need to choose a company who has experience of your make and model but i know guys who run these remapping companies and they would never "not want to know" as muff put it.

If your near northampton i could put you in touch with the guy i use down there Thumbs Up

Thanks for that, but a bit far south for me, i think i will give bellautos a ring they are fairly local to me and have enough experiance for me to know what they are doing.
Cheers Ady
