LED TV's - is it just me?

Guys,

Got a new 8000 Samsung LED TV for the house, and it's gorgeous to look at in stainless steel and glass, and with Blue Ray - wow - BUT does anyone else notice that because the picture is so very clear, it almost doesn't look real - especially on films - the main characters really stand out and are clear, and it's almost like the film mode is changed to video mode - I have changed the settings loads and it does look better, but still takes some getting used to.

Anyone else get this too?

Nick, You'll probably find it'll take a wee while before your brain adapts to the new look
and then it will not seem so harsh. It's like when we all changed our 4:3 aspect TV's to
Widescreen models, The brain was so used to flattening out the Goldfish Bowl effect from
the old CRT's that the New Flat Wide screens actually gave the impression of being concave.

on a desent blu-ray on a full 1080p i have found it crystal clear and some faces do look superimposed, almost clearer than in real life, as im sure i don't chat to people thinking Censored your faces in wrinkled.

i'm looking at what to buy for my conservatory at the new'ish to me house, just bought the sofa and priced up a couple of TVs', which i think will be the same as what DSL got the other week, a Panasonic G20 42" plasma so i can play the ex-box in there and watch the movies with the volume higher on surround system.

I have a decent 42" plasma in my lounge, but stood in Comet some of the pictures when comparing were miles apart, but the only ones that came close to what i have and looking at getting were the OLED? Samsungs

Nick thats exactly it - the faces looked superimposed, and it is quite weird to look at.

Got a good deal £1699 - plus free Blue Ray player, with Shrek DVD's - plus bought the Samsung wireless dongle for Internet TV, which is pretty cool - can view iplayer, youtube, facebook etc etc

Great looking TV though, if anyone wants s uper cool looking LED, try the 9000, entirely cast in stainless steel and only 6mm thick - but £3000 - cheaper than a B&O or Loewe TV

LED isn't as good as it made out to be - Toy Story or anything computer generated will look superb - anything else can have problems. Watch a dark movie Nick and tune the settings so Black's are really black (brightness and contrast) - then see if it improves

I like my Pioneer Plasma PDP LX5090 50", looked at a few LED tvs but never liked the over bright pictures on them and the motion smear, when I look at the pic I have and the pictures on friends that have LED tvs I'm so glad I got the plasma. Had the Pio for over a year now and the picture is superb, it's a shame that Pio stopped making the Kuro TV.
Next tuesday the builders are coming in to put up the wall for my screen for the home cinema, over xmas and new year I've been running cables and re-wiring what was my old garage into my bat cave Smile
I do have a Samsung 24" LCD monitor/TV for my PC but I can also throw the image up on the Pio Plasma. In the bedroom I have an HD DLP projector hooked up to a PS3 and HD cable, it's not too bad but the acoustics suck so I'm looking forward to getting the cinema set up (not to mention that if I play films at THX levels the daughter complains about the noise ... teenagers Rolling Eyes ) Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

I have both my 50" plasma in the one lounge and the 46" LED in the other

both needed a ref run on the setup with the usual DVD disk to sort them out , the newer LED TV's need a lot of stuff turning off IMO to get them to a ref display which is then awesome 2014 5.0SC AB
