Another newbie question where the manual's a little vague.

I have a new 2010 HSE with the ipod cable.

now if i leave the ipod plugged in and just turn the engine off and lock and go
is the ipod going to drain the battery ? of the vehicle.

i know from experience that leaving an internal light on can drain a vehicle and wreck a battery overnight.

i don't want to have to lift that compartment and turn on/off the ipod each time i use the vehicle
i'm hoping it'll cope with plug and forget operation.

i've set the ipod itself to shut down when not in use (a function of the ipod) but have no idea whether that works with a cable and possible power being supplied to it.

both the Rangey and ipod are both new toys so any help appreciated.

It will stop charging after a short time, and the iPod will then switch itself off automatically. Is nothing to worry about, I leave mine connected all the time. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

ive had my ipod connected since i got the car in april till just before christmas when i got an iphone, bought it specifically for leaving it in the car,no battery drain at all
