Recently had a similar experience - the tyre was flat and I drove a few miles on it before I realised something was up. Tyre was about to disintegrate. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

@ Sasha: Glad its not my fault - the wheel set was just stored over the wintertime; then i sold the RRS and i never used them again.. 1 year is to much of a storage without checking the air pressure...
