Just to repeat, it's not the battery - bought a new one yesterday (from Land Rover) and fitted. Felt very smug. Drove 10 mins down the road and the Christmas Tree lights came on the dashboard along with the two bongs of 'you have a problem' and then the impending frustration from me.

Right, anyone with any bright ideas? I had to drive 200 miles today and it did it on the way there/back too.

I've seen it a few times before when the wheel speed sensors (abs sensors to you and I) cause this problem.

A quick check on the stored fault codes should point you to the right corner.

You may be lucky and the "apparent" abs sensor fault might be caused by a bad connection in the wiring to it.
They are usually connected to the vehicle with a plug and socket arrangement. You can experience road dirt/water etc in the connector.

You might be lucky but an abs sensor isnt a fortune to replace anyway.

it gets better and better, so in addition to this I now have 'Suspension Fault' and stuck in access mode. .

update time:

First of all, thanks to this site, I have saved another fortune. The fortune that I saved I have invested in a Hawkeye unit - WOW! (more of that later)

Had compressor changed and now the suspension is happy again and I am happy my RRS doesn't look like a pimp mobile

Using Hawkeye the reason I was getting the various warning messages is that I have a brake switch failure. That will be fixed next week, car has no other faults. Sweet and no main $tealer telling me other things are wrong with it. If I get time I will write up a more comprehensive report on the Hawkeye bearing in mind I am not an engineer, just a geek.
