But alas, this "law" in America varies from state to state. Here in California it is required by law to have a front plate. However the fine is only $10USD and is not a formal moving violation. Instead it is what we call a "fix it" ticket. I've been lucky as I've only received such a ticket once in the past 5yrs. Thanks to all for the warm welcome and kind words! My grandfather (a WWII vet who fought in the UK) said "Never buy from the enemy" which meant no German or Japanese cars. Indeed the tips do look rather large in the pix but in person they are more sedate. On the rangerovers.net forum there is a vendor called Gibson who sells them for $150 USD. They have an oval-cut opening which doesn't show in the pix. '09 XF '07 MC '06 VW

This is the Supercharged trim piece/skid plate. I was able to special order this along with the Supercharged grill. It's hard to see from the pic's but the lower trim piece matches the SC grill. Essentially I have the "look" of the SC without the SC engine. '09 XF '07 MC '06 VW
