KC, all you need touch is the steering, HDC will look after the braking and speed, you will not stop but you will go very slowly. If you feel it safe to go a little faster then the HDC speed can be adjusted up or down using the +/- button of the the cruise control. If the hill is a steep down slope I would also put the TR into Grass/Gravel/Snow and switch from hi to lo box as Low 1st will provide plenty of engine braking which will help the HDC. DO NOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, that will over-ride the HDC which will progressively fade out. Once the downslope has been negotiated then disable the HDC and switch back to Hi box. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
