Tim there is nothing wrong with the TDV8, it is a stunning engine but firstly it is going out of production very soon and it will be replaced with a new TVD8; and second after driving the 5.0 S/C for couple of days the TDV8 feels soooo heavy if you know what I mean.
Now for Angel stepping from a DBS to a TDV8 will feel like your ship mate Laughing

Coko, how reliable is your source about the new TDV8 engine??

Thanks,

JJ

Mate, for obvious reasons I can not be more specific Whistle

Angel if you get rid of the DBS it should either be for:

1. Another DBS (White)
2. Ferrari California
3. Lambo LP640-2
4. Dacia Sandero

DBS to FFRR is a step down no matter how good the FFRR is, the DBS is a driving wet dream

Thud

Johny Fresh, FFRR is the daddy of all 4x4s, there is no way you can compare it with a sports car; just as there is nothing better on the market in this category.

Obviously apart from RRS of course Laughing

Rumour is that FFRR will get a new 4.4TDv8 in time for 2011MY (so launch in May/June 2010??)- 440HP and 1000 tonnes meters of torques and better than 30mpg with very low CO2 (for a big SUV!).This info comes from a recent edition of Autocar magazine here in the UK and somebody else! Rumour is also that this motor will not make it into the RRS. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Well the DBS is cool but as a daily driver you loose the interest in the car and the car is to large when you drive it in town - you are all the time scared that you scratch the rims or touch another car... ....... i am not kidding..... Shocked

wife doesn't want to give her Jag away - even worse she wants to keep it longer than the 3 years contract ! Shocked

And now for the FFRR TDV8 - i had one the other day as a loaner and it was very cool and relaxing to drive it - AND as a red light dragster it has enough torque to get rid of all the boy racers..... Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

that's why... Cool

But now lets wait and see what the dealer can do for me - i don't want to add 50 k extra and drive a FFRR Wink

FFRR owners don't wear white jeans Angel, you will need a whole new wardrobe of tweed plus fours.............. and an account at House of Bruar. http://www.houseofbruar.com/house-of-bruar...odtp10170/ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think it must be the recent account of a DBS being overtaken by a pushbike (going uphill) that's done it for XXXAngelXXX. The shame of having such a "slow" car.
