PMs don't work the same as e-mail, PMs sit in your outbox until they are read by the recipient. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Messages sit in the outbox until James logins and reads them on the forum itself, then they go to the sent box

however, James should receive a email notification telling him he has a message, and the message text in that email.

So he might have read it via the email
