Can anyone tell me if a car ordered, paid for and due for delivery in December can be registered in January without being penalised by the new VAT rate |

As with any VAT related business, if you pay (all outstanding monies) in December 2009 the answer is YES |

You'd need to discuss with your dealer. We would be very reluctant to deliver an unregistered vehicle, however it is not uncommon the night before a plate change (March /Sept) for a customer to have their car the day before, lock it away securely in a garage, sign a disclaimer to say that they won't drive it until it's legal registration date.

Why do you want to do this - just to make it a 2010 - 59? |
