Blue light near rear view mirror?

Not sure how, but last night I noticed there seems to be a blue light shining down from somewhere in front of the rear view mirror (I assume by the buttons that turn on the interior lights)

Couldnt actually see it by looking at it, but when I had my hand in front of the rear view mirror, there was a UV style blue light beaming down... anyone else got this!?

I thought it shined on the rear view mirror and was something to do with the auto dimming feature?

"Shines" may be a bit on an overstatement, but it is supposed to make the controls on the center console a little more visible at night.
