I looked at the G55 AMG at the Geneva Motor Salon last week, really not impressed with it, especially not for the money Mercedes ask for it (and people seem willing to spend). doesn't seem to be particularly luxurious or built solidly enough to ask £117,500 !!

If they priced it less than £50K then maybe...

its a 2005...so its not even new, so value has reduced by 50% at least from new price and pimping up only cost 60k so how do they get to 115k...anyway looks like a bad taste middle east car...no class at all and to be honest it looks cr*p inside and out..

simon1233 come on how could you say that, the matt grey 55 that was on the Mercedes stand was stunning, even tho I am a real LR fan, you could not compare the build quality to the LR build quality.

If and when L405 is releasted and no doubt it will be over 100k then i will have to make a tough choice and i think the G55 would win.

Misery, it just did not seem to be a good enough car to warrant the outlay, I don't think the next Range Rover would be either if it comes in at £100k upwards.

That G55 disappointed me on so many different levels relating to how the quality felt. The interior was not up to standard for a car costing so much, the materials in the items you touch every day (door handles etc) felt like they had come from a mid-80's fiat. That said I have seen the YouTube videos of these things racing through Saudi and they look like they are immensely quick and sound great.

These cars are a bit like the 911, you are paying a lot for the name, but unlike the 911 this hasn't been updated in the last 30 years.

30 years on, goes to show you don't need to change things to make them better. I just love everything about it and the looks are stunning.

Saying that I have 2 series LR's a Defender and 2 classic RR's so I suppose I think the oxo cube is a stunning look.

Misery, given that I am trying to buy a NAS V8 defender I think I am also starting to appreciate the oxo cube aesthetic
