You probably have 'drive away locking set'? - Where the car locks at 12mph

Interesting James, i have not enabled this on mine, and yet sometimes the fuel flap is jammed/locked.. i think sometimes if it is not fully aligned when you lock the vehicle, it basically just gets stuck Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Back in the early days of this forum, when the RRS was still a new car, a fair few people complained about the fuel flap getting jammed. Now that I remember, this even happened to me when I was out my test drive before buying mine.... the sales guy wanted to put some juice in it, we pulled into the station and he spent some minutes trying to get the thing open. He never did manage so we had to go on our way without putting anything in.... Confused

Locked fuel cap on my Evoque

I drove into the garge to refuel and hey ho the fuel cap was locked.
I tried every thing, pressing hard , twisting ,locking , unlocking , double locking ,double unlocking , looked for an emergency release- nothing.
Even tried the owners manual as a last resort - no avail.

Before calling out Landrover assist I thought I'd just try the fuses.
*** F34 Red - Blown
Not easy to find but problem solved

Thumbs Up

Range Rover Sport Fuel Flap stuck- the answer!

Same has happened to me, whilst on holidays, with 1/4 tank diesel and a LONG way from a Land Rover Dealer. Tried all the above, no avail. Even replaced fuse F34 (was not blown but replaced anyway)- no good.
Looking closely inside the body cavity through the right side access hatch, there is a bowden cable looping around and inserting into the lock mechanism of the flap. Gave it a good fiddling with, and then a light tug- and it disconnected from flap mechanism and the flap sprung open. It is now disconnected from the central locking but the rest of the car locks fine. Flap closes / uncloses with a light push as usual.
I think this is the emergency release people are referring to. Not a release as such, but the actual locking mech. which is easily disconnected.
Now, its off to the dealer in my own good time to have it reconnected... fortunately under warranty.
I forgive an otherwise stellar car.

cheers,
