Radio Issue

Symptons ; listening to the same old dross on the radio and before you can switch over all goes quiet and it sounds like its coming out of only 1 speaker at about a 3rd of the volume it should be, very tinny

So far the dealer has over the last 4 months

a). Changed the Radio, it originally came up with a fault code on the Diagnostics
b). Changed the Battery, as they thought this was a general cause of all things gremlin like
c). Today told me it could be the wiring loom (infotainment?) as not been routed correctly through the cabin, it could have been crushed by the seat rollers Shocked , and it could be a 2 day job to fix Rolling Eyes

Manufactured Dec 05 MY06 model.. Anyone else had similar problems.

We do not get the Low Power mode message up

How long has this been hapening Zilchy?

I guess you are out of warranty or do you have an extended which will cover this? If not, maybe try an auto electric specialist rather than LR.

I would also look at earthing straps and the alternator as well. I don't understand why you aren't getting low power mode.....but it seems to me that the problem is somewhere in your electrics system rather than audio related which seems to be confirmed after changing out the radio.

Keep us updated.....

BKHK, the problem was originally reported within the warranty period, and i am treating it as not fixed yet (it took nearly 2 months to get the new radio from the UK), its 3 trips and 6 months so far, so i will leave it to the dealer to argue the toss with LR about who pays. That said i took out the 3 year extended warranty with Allianz in March, so i can always let them go into battle to recover, if it is the loom routing, that was an issue at manufacture stage, so i would say there is a good case to recover costs against LR.

Are you coming up in Sept for the LR expo, a few members on here are going, need a few more brits to even the nationality out Whistle Laughing Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

UPDATE

Vehicle came back tonight after 2 days, down to the wiring loom which is normally routed through a channel in the cabin floor, it had managed to extract it self from the channel during manufacturing and become gently crushed by the movement of the drivers seat over a period of time, the Dealership is pretty sure this has been the cause of all the Radio volume problems.

Got to back in 3 weeks for new bushes and ball joints, ordered from the UK and will be changed under the extended warranty, they have ordered a new more robust design, hence why sourcing direct from LR UK and not changing now from stock.

Rattle above the sun roof is the Drain tube has come adrift/broke/whatever, needs a new mounting.

Could not see any changes to the brake pipes as part of the recall, will have to double check.. the joy of LR ownership Rolling with laughter Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
