Remove Chrome Mirror covers?

Hi

Hopefully picking up a RRS tomorrow, and it has Chrome Mirror covers, which I don't like.

Is it just a case of removing them, leaving behind standard black mirrors? or do I have to fit new black covers?

If so, anyone got any links?

It depends on which chrome mirror you have. If it's original LR mirror I have no idea. If bought not OEM mirror you can remove it with alcohol and you don't need new covers.

Hi,

I had the same when I bought my SC. They actually came off quite easily as they were fitted with a flexi gum. There was no damage at all to the original black plastic - it just need cleaning with the usual palstic refurb cleaner. If you are struggling to get them off one good suggestion I received when I asked the same question was to use a length of dental floss and use a sawing motion to cut through the adhesive.

Good move - the colour coded ones look nice, see picture below of my old RRS, think I'll get some for the Mrs FL2...
