As for how much effort it takes to keep it looking nice, I'll let you know this time next year, it might be painted by then. Although I doubt it as it seems pretty straightforward and simple. The added benefit is that any stone marks can be rubbed down and polished again, which is much better than paint.

That's the one. I've got "Slash Cut" Screamin' Eagle pipes on mine, which are nice and noisy. But compared to the Cobra they're almost silent. For anyone who's interested, the engine is a Ford 427 cubic inch (7 litre) "Side Oiler" V8. The side oiler was designed for the GT40 Mk.II and the "side oiler" refers to a modified oil system designed to withstand sustained high speed operation at places like Le Mans. It has an original forged steel crank with original "Le Mans" con-rods but with modern forged pistons and aluminium heads, which have been cnc ported and port-matched. The carb is a 750cfm "double-pumper" Holley. Output is around 520bhp.

Good god, Paul - it looks amazing!!! I remember seeing the pics of it going in or coming out of the container and it looked great then, but really stands out now. Must be a hoot to drive - not something you'd want to take out in the wet, I suspect

I drove it to Le Mans last July for the Classic and it poured with rain all the way there. There was about an inch of water in the bottom of the car and it has made a bit of a mess of the seat leather, but apart from that, it behaved impecably. The tyres are wet weather race tyres, so they actually work very well in the wet. In fact, they are better than the RRS in standing water.

Having said that, you still need to be careful because it has a huge surplus of power over traction in the dry, let alone the wet.  RRS TDV8 - Stornoway Grey, Irory Leather with Dark Zebrano, Privacy Glass, Tow Pack.
