BBC 1. Sunday Morning.

Can't wait though I'll miss Brundle's pit walk.

Also, I hope the been goes HD on f1 coverage.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

Alot of people are backing Button to come good with the new Braun Racing Team.

But I think it would be silly to discount Alonso. He is probably, pound for pound the most skillful driver on the grid this season. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

The BBC commentator that they had on the Radio4 news last night didn't mention that at all. All we got was Hamilton saying that his his car just wasn't running fast enough to be in the rankings! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

While I am not against F1 in general, I am not a fan of the Melbourne GP. The top of the track is about 300m from my townhouse. The annual inconvenience is a pain. The noise is intolerable (at least its a weekend so we are usually at the beach house)

We have to have a special permit sticker to get into our own street. The Park is basically off limits for weeks (unless you like trucks and cranes). It costs taxpayers about 25 million quid a year to stage (it loses heaps of money) and does little to showcase Melbourne. It also seems to attract a mob of drunken pigs. It has no place in town and should be moved to a purpose built location away from residential areas.

Last night, I had to go to the airport for a business trip and the driver couldn't get into my street because its been blocked off. I had to walk with my suitcase down to the end of the street (through the drunks)to get my car to the airport.

While I loathe having it on my doorstep, I think that it was an exciting race and the Brits are showing some real talent these days....well done to JB.

Yes BKHK, I would consider carefully myself before buying in Albert Park or surroundiung area just because of the disruption the F1 causes around that area for the locals. Your Blackhawks were flying again, but that F18 makes a monsterous noise!!

Was a great race - and a fabulous spectacle all day, well done to Brawn GP and JB... i always believed that Schumacher owed a lot of his success to the man behind the engineering/tactics - Ross Brawn...

Look out for Richard Branson stealing the show at the Grand Prixs now! He was quite funny today, long after all of the Principles and drivers had gone he was still shaking random members of the Melbourne publics hands throuhg the pit lane fence! Laughing

Hi 2nd,

I bought there before the GP came to town!! Nice to know that our "children" were flying around. We are quite attached to our products.

Now, if I can get dropped outside my house tomorrow night, all will be forgiven....until next year Rolling with laughter

I'm a massive fan of F1 and so very pleased with todays result. Jenson seems like a straight up and down guy, this season will be watched with great interest. My favourite is Monaco and I've driven round the circuit there but shortly after got an effing parking ticket!!

Jensen is a decent guy I think... Found myself in the same restaurant as him a few times when I was working in Monaco and he was polite and friendly to anyone that spoke to him - not at all aloof.

Never been to the GP in Monaco, but have driven and walked the circuit a few times (have a video somewhere of me doing a lap in my 911 - unfortunately in heavy traffic Sad ) I really must try and make it for the race one year - it must sound amazing with all the echoes off the buildings.

Chuffed to bits for the team - what a result

I did the Monaco GP in about 2002 ish (As I recall Montoya won and grabbed me the sweepstake and I only had my oney on him cos the company I worked for at the time sponsored him.

We did the full works with no half measures. Easily done when you have a friend who lives there and works for SBM.

We flew over on the wednesday before and grabbed the Monaco Heli-Air from Nice to Monaco then the accompanying transit to the apartment door. Very swish. Practice day was spent on a boat in the harbour right on the track with "free" drinks all day. Hardly free for the prices mind.

Qualifying was spent in the restaurant in the Columbus Hotel which was owned by David Coulthard at the time. My well still be I've not been for a few years. Its the one near the football ground as I recall. Lobster and lots of wine for lunch was just the ticket.

Race day we watched from Cafe de Paris on Casino Square. If you really want to see the race and not the fashion parade of cars, women and suits don't go to this place. you could see the racetrack in several sections but really only glimpsed the cars as they flew past. Still the lunch and view of the Ferrari balcony more than made up for it!!!

Evening of race day was a bit of a blur but involved wobbling around from hostelry to hostelry. We usually ended up at an Irish bar the name of which eludes me.

The whole event was topped off with the pleasure of a nice apartment overlooking Miami Plage just the other side of the racetrack entrance to the tunnel. Return trip via Monaco Heli air again with a last night at Jimmys where I was a little worse for wear to say the least.

The best place for a drink we found was the Sass cafe or the Zebra on the front by Miami Plage. we saw Bono, Rod Stewart and Stelios in the Sass Cafe so I am guessing thats the place to go. At £29 for a vodka and red bull its priced to keep the riff raff out ... just didn't work with me.

At the other end is Stars n Bars on the harbour itself where a pint of Fosters was £2.35 last time I visited Smile
In all the weekend was great and well worth it. Its a bit like Henley though - very few people are there for the racing.

My mate no longer lives in Monaco so I don't take regular trips there anymore but I have to say I loved going if only for the Pagani/Ferrari/Lambo/etc parade daily. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award
