90% Tax rate..................

OK so I'm old enough (and was working in the days of it too) to remember when we had 99% tax levels here in the UK, but tonight in the USA there is a bill being discussed to levy 90% tax on bonuses over $250000 earned from working at a company that has received a Government bail out........................... and it would be applied RETROSPECTIVELY - basically an AIG bonus Tax. Just heard it was defeated but will go to the US equivalent of a 2nd reading. How long before Gordie Broon and his team the same thing here? A Fred Goodwin Tax.....
Also I read in Autocar today that Aston are suffering badly from the downturn in the USA with unsold 2007 DB9s and 4.4litre Vantages still in stock..................... discounts of £10,000 can be easily obtained. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

United Kingdom

The trouble with doing this sort of thing is that the people would love to see Goodwin retro-taxed, but if it became the rule for everyone, it'd be a different story.
