Yes very unusual Zilch, Apple usually don't let anyone discount the RRP on current products as they like to completely control the market..

I have access to the Apple Employee shop (no I don't work for Apple direct) and get a discount on products. So if you want anything else let me know as I believe I can buy it and have it shipped to 'friends and families'. It's not a big discount % wise, but is better than nothing!!!

2nd, Dick Smith electrical are offering the discount on Macbooks. There is one on George St literally 100 metres from the Apple main store, however they had none in stock. When i went back to Apple, i mentioned the offer down the road and it took one nanosecond discussion between the assistant and his manager The other offer was, as it was for my daughter who is at college, i could take advantage of the $80 student discount against retail $2099, hmm no 10% will do nicely Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
