Spotted a great looking RRS Autobiography today at a local dealership

Said 60th Anniversary Diamond on the side for sale at just short of 70K



Nice Matching stitching on the leather seats



Colour was very nice been a very deep metallic orange, darker than the Tambora Flame FL2's i have seen, can't compare to Vesuvius as I have never seen one

So that will be Farnell's Land Rover NP. It's the only one in the world and its for sale for £69k on Autotrader.
The colour is metallic Lambo Orange which I'm assured set them back £10k extra! It must have cost them getting on for £75k or more to build it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I presume it would not be farnells that ordered a orange £70 car to sell, and it was made up by LR to promote Autobiography editions, as i wouldn't have thought there is a lot of people looking for a bright orange RRS made up to somebody else's specification.

I was out that way and though i might as well get a set of wiper blades, Only had the drivers in stock, and put it on for me aswell.

Was quietly impress with the attitude and service I got just from the service department, no hassle from sales either when looking over the showroom cars.

Obviously knew i couldn't afford a RRS so left me dreaming

Its quite a wealth area over that way saw 6 or 7 LR RRS FFRR & FL2 all with private reg's within 5 mins of leaving

I think they had it built as a special 60th Anniversary car, Autobiography used to be only available on FFRR's.
That car has been in some of the magazines too this month. It looks good in the pictures though. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

i think it is a one off that that showroom had made to try and "play" on the whole pimping theme that range rover sports get,
as soon as anyone see's its a "limited edition autobiogrophy" they are automatically going to presume its range rover,

why would range rover paint their car "lamborgini orange"? and its not jus the color name it is a lambo official colour.

they would also not be so tacky as to write it down the side in black like a GT3 RS, or in the headliners like bentley,

also, they do not make a 22" wheel in diamond cut, so these wheels are "coppies of the stormer wheels" and landrover warantee is voided with non landrover parts, also with 22" wheels.

It felt real when i sat in it

The car is genuine and it was built at Solihull on the same production line as every other D3 and RRS.
What makes it special is that Autobiography is normally only available for FFRR's.

There were 6 Freelander1 Autobiographies made too - 3 station wagons and 3 hardbacks - all in metallic Custard yellow with special Black wheels and the 3 hardbacks had body coloured rear roof sections, but what made them really special was that all the plastic bits were sanded smooth and painted in the same colour as the body whereas on standard cars the grey plastic bits all had a matt/rough finish. The interior was done in all black leather with yellow stitching............................... they were built for the Motorshow at the NECC in 1998 0r 1999 and as far as I know only one (a hard back) was ever sold to a member of the public. It used to come along to any car shows where the Freelander Club had a stand and was guaranteed to drawn big crowds.

If you order Autobiography spec you can have virtually any colour you like for the £10500 extra you are being charged just for the paint job, and there are some very weird colours in the Autobiography "standard" colour palate including those clever paints that change colour as you walk round the car like Vesuvius on the 1st Edition RRS did. Then there is the extra you will pay on top of that for whatever interior you want - the sky is the limit and some of them are MUCH more desirable than most of Kahn's offerings.
I stand to be corrected but I think this is the only genuine Autobiography RRS produced - Autobiography treatment is fairly common with FFRR's though and there were a lot of P38 RR Autobiographies made. There used to be a special section of the LR website that had all the possibilities of the Autobiography service options on it including the "standard" colours but they have taken it down with the latest version of the website and Autobiography only gets a couple of line on the FFRR section

I see on the Land Rover UK used stock locator it's still for sale and has now covered the grand total of 92 miles since October!
Price has dropped below £60k and they've removed the stickers down the sides too............................. so there's not much demand for metallic orange TDv8 HST RRS's then

As Tim says above, that is a genuine vehicle. Built at Solihull.  Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.
