Sounds like exhaust gasses seeping from the manifold gasket or perhaps even a damaged manifold.
I think that because it only sounds like it is coming from one cylinder.

How easy is it to pull off the top plastic engine covers to try and get closer to the manifolds to listen.

So, today I visited dealer in Prague and when he listened it, he immediately said: "It´s exhaust gas-escape"

Tomorrow I am going to let there Range and they will find where tha gas escape. I hope they will find it quickly... RANGE ROVER, MORE THAN A CAR, LESS THAN A KITKAT

Any chance you could re-post as I have a slight noise when accelerating at a certain rev range and wondered if its the same. Its only just started and is very faint but its repeatable. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award
