broken!!

This evening I was driving on the highway at around 110 km/h when I heard a small ''CLAC'' on my windshield.
I saw that a small stone had carved a very tiny chip on the upper left side of the windshield more or less in front of my eyes.

I wasn't overly concerned since CARGLASS can repair that in no time.

After about 10' I heard an odd noise, sounding like a paper sheet being torn off, an suddenly a crack started to develop from the tiny chip and in 1 or 2'' the all windshield was totally broken left to right and up to down!!!

I had no camera to take a photo, so I drove to my dealer where I left the car.
They will replace the (heated) windshield for tomorrow for the small and reasonable amount of 1600 € Sad Sad .

Costly afternoon Big Cry Big Cry

Check before your dealer does it - only approved insurers repairers can do it for the excess option - over here you have a 24hr telephone line for glass matters. even if your broker is closed there should be an insurers line open??

Yeah, don't go and pay the dealer to do it - once you've done that you'll have a hell of a job trying to get the insurance to cover it! Shocked

Called the insurance, they are covering all the costs.
they have just sent a mail to the dealer asking to invoice them directly Very Happy

I shall recover the car tomorrow morning, let's hope they have done a good job Rolling Eyes
