Replacement Wiper Blades

OK, experts lets hear it - my front wipers are tell me very vocally that after 15 months/13000 miles they would like replacing. Has anybody replaced their blades with anything other than LR accessory items from the local dealership? I looked in Halfrauds wiper rack today and the choice is amazing but there was nothing which listed the RRS as being the car they fitted.
Even after all these years of production I still have to go to the local dealer to get LR wipers for my Defender as the recommended items from Halfrauds are too long for it and grate something chronic, whereas LR branded blades fit and work quietly so if the RRS is the same I'll go to the local dealer for a set. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi Tim, welcome home.
My blades made awful noises from new and the dealer wouldn't/couldn't change them. Evil or Very Mad
I got a set on Fleabay for 15 quid or so. They've been fine ever since (9,000 miles with little or no noise.) Very Happy
There's a company on Fleabay that advertises them all the time - quick search & you'll find them.
Not sure how much the LR ones are from a dealer.

Oh almost forgot -
Carwash ripped my rear wiper off, so had to get a replacement from LR.
80 quid all in for new arm and blade. Easy to fit.

Ant, my TDV6 had awful grating wipers all the time but I believe there was a redesign or rubber formulation change and the TDv8 has never had the problem up till now. I thought it might be the cold weather we are having here but today the outside gauge showed +6C and I only ever had the grating on the v8 below +4 so I assume the blades are failing. Will take a look on Fleabay and see what I find 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Crumbs KLM those are more expensive than buying an LR branded set from a Landie Dealer's part dept! I bought a set of LR official blades today as the grating is just getting unbearable - cost me £25-84. I notice that on the label it says the LR ones are Made in Mexico Evil or Very Mad At least that will keep a seafarer or two in work shipping them round the world! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

yeah but I bought a new LR set when I had first service and they have lasted about 500 miles max, so I'm willing to give these a go, surely they can't be worse than the LR ones, two sets in a year Twisted Evil

A whole 5000 miles, huh? I'd have to get a new set of blades every 2 months...

Phenomenal mileage there on the wipers - only 5000 miles per set of blades...wow!

I'm on my second set at 67Kmiles, I had replaced the first set about 40k miles ago. Bought them at the local auto parts store and they're as quiet as can be, and still good. Applying RainX or similar product to the windshield once a year seems to keep them quiet. I had bought a second pair at the time as a backup, but they're still in the box.

Will look later to see what brand they are... PJPR

The very best ones from my personal experience

Silencio X.TRM FlatBlades offer the following features and benefits:
- Over 1,000 pressure points across the length of the blade – provides constant pressure along the blade
- Noise reduction compared to standard wipers
- Integrated spoiler across the length of the blade – less lift at high speeds
- Improved winter resistance – the blade will not freeze to the windscreen
- Reduced blade dimensions improve visibility and therefore safety

Silencio X.TRM FlatBlades consist of 66 references for front and rear applications. For ease of ordering, all front blades are supplied in sets.

Silencio X.TRM Aftermarket:
FlatBlade technology for everyone.
Silencio X.TRM Aftermarket allows vehicles currently fitted with conventional wiper blades to upgrade to FlatBlade technology. The range of 16 part numbers covers popular vehicles with a hook fitting. And in the last few weeks many many days and nights with negative air temperatures and heavy frosts which freeze your blades to the screen. Today the daytime temperature just made it into positive numbers +0.5C and now at 17:30 it is freezing hard again.
I bought a set of LR's best, Made in Mexico, so very "green" and have a carbon footprint bigger than the car's after doing all those miles to get to the UK either by sea or by air! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Ireland 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

i replaced mine before xmas, i used the standard bosch wipers 22inch and use the existing plastic clip (if you want them noticable get the 22 inches with the spoiler cost more but a lot cooler) and you can get them in halfords and they are alot better than the rr tpye.
Thumbs Up
