2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Integrated Garage Door / Electric Gate Opener

Though you guys might be interested in this.

my garage door opener was starting to me off rattling around the car, so I decided to integrate it into the dash.

This is the door opener I was using.

I opened it up and soldered two wires to contacts on the circuit board as below

Got a push to make switch from maplin, I used a black one.

I took off the panel around the light switch and used a dremel tool to cut a whole the size of the switch,

I then soldered another set of wires in place to the back of the switch, installed the switch in the panel around the light controls, fished the cables down the inside of the dash and fixed the panel back in place

I pulled the panel under the steering wheel down

and connected the cables fished down the inside of the dash to the ones I soldered to the garage door opener. I taped the door opener to the inside of the panel

Closed everything up and it all works perfectly.

luckily its reprogramable if I sell it on, someone else should be able to open there doors with it.

because I would get a bit

off coming back every night to find them parked in my garage with some lame excuse about door openers.
