Hi all,

I am fitting new winter tyres tomorrow. I was thinking about the Pirelli Scorpion ICE+SNOW. Do you have any experience with these or any suggestion about another brand?

thanks guys.

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Last year's Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow were fab Thumbs Up

The new set fitted this year aren't nearly as good Big Cry

The only difference is that last year they had a "NO" marking, and this year they don't. Have a look at the previous thread on this subject a week or so back for more details.

''Killer - I have been running the new Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow's that don't have the "NO" marking for a week now. Confess that these tyres don't feel nearly as good as the ones I used last year which were the same tyres except they had the "NO" marking. This years tyres feel very "vague" and are not instilling confidence in me at all. Last years tyres were very grippy indeed and gave lots of good feedback to the driver. I am sure its not my imagination. In fact its so bad that I am begining to wonder whether the tyres have been correctly fitted or perhaps the suspension has been affected during the fitting process. The steering seems so light and lifeless now that perhaps there is something wrong ? Or maybe the compound used on the "NO" tyres is simply a better, stickier and grippier tread with firmer sidewalls. ''

Thank you guys.

SMARTICUS, after speaking with the dealer here he said that the N0 marking doesn't exist anymore on the ice +snow and that they are all made with NYLON since the beginning of 2008. He told me that they now have a small logo showing a mountain with a snow flake in it meaning that the new design have been approved by the Canadian authorities . For him tyres still showing the N0 marking are older stock models.

What do you think, total BS or not?? Question
