2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black

I would like a national referendum on sentecing for drunk/drugged/uninsured drivers.

Here are my proposals......

5 year minimum jail sentence for drunk/drug driving and car confiscated
10 year minimum for repeat offender plus car confiscated again
10 year minimum for death by careless driving if under the influence and again....goodbye car
12 months minimum for driving without insurance plus ......goodbye car again

All of these confiscated cars would be sold rather than crushed to put some money back into the system

Thoughts? RRS TDV6 SE Java Black +towpack +tintent +Permagrin

What a difference between this and my old Disco3

Absolutely agree.....exept the cars would need to go back to finance company if financed.

The potential punishments are not severe enough to be a strong enough deterrent

in principle you are correct, however in this case and many others like it your talking about alcohol and the crazy things people do under the influence - I'm sure punishments don't even come into the equation when your full of mind altering substances such as booze

Taking a life is taking a life.

This idiot got into a potentially lethal object (A vehicle) under the influence of alcohol which makes it even more lethal.

Why, in this case is he only being given 7 years?

If someone got hold of another potentially lethal weapon (Let's say a knife) and drunkenly plunged it into 2 young, inoccent children would he not be tried for murder?

Frankly, I see no real difference.
