Windscreen Wipers - dragging

Hi guys, anyone who a cure for the constant and annoying windsreen wiper dragging when driving with them on intermittent? Had the issue since new and dealer has changed the blades, sprayed the windscreen with some form of lube but now it's returned. Is this a known problem and why cant they solve it?? You spend £55K on a RRS and you would think there wouldn't be these sort of issues.
Vehicle is a MY08 RRS TDV8 HSE.
Cheers for any suggestions.
Colin

Jersey 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Chawton White

I had to get two replacment sets of blades from the dealer before the problem went away. The first set was apperently 'old' stock, so perhaps there is a change in the rubber composition on the new ones. Shocked Chawton White TDV6 HSE with Alpaca and Rodium, Automatic Climate Control,

There was an older issue with wiper blades and LR introduced a new blade (I expect you can find the part number by searching here for "wiper blades") but not sure if these were introduced into production for MY08 or not. If not, as Bobby said RAINX has been used with some success Thumbs Up

The "new formulation" wiper blades came in with the 2008MY although some late 2007MY may have them, and they make s difference although I occasionally get a rumble out of the rear one, but that could be because of dry patches on the rear window rather than the wiper rubber. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I would imagine there are aftermarket ones available but TBH I had heard that LR had fixed the issue so stuck with OEM. Off the top of my head I think I paid £27 for 2 blades.... Current: I can't say...Oh the Shame!

This is the part number of the "new" wiper blades: DKC 500150.

They do charge silly money if I remember though Confused

Valeo make aftermarket wipers that are perfect - dead silent. I picked up a set while in the UK for about £20 each, but I think you can get them cheaper.

Sorry, don't remember the model no. but any stockist will be able to tell you.

LR Only available blades......................................... My defender also has this problem, everything that the wiper makers say is suitable for the Defender is actually about 3cm too long, only dealers sell the right size blades. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Have you thought about just replacing the rubbers? Even if the right sizes are not available from your local auto shop (can't remember what they are in UK) you buy long and cut them to size. That's what I do with my wife's car and it often works better than buying the whole aftermarket wiper blade and holder.

Rolling Eyes The Valeo Silencio blades are perfect and much better than the POS blades that came with the car. Had them for months now and still as good as new - no shudders, squeaks etc.

Bosch also make good replacement blades but the Valeos have been getting better reviews.

BKHK: not sure you can do that with the types of wipers on the RRS.
