Hydraulics in rear boot lid has given way.

Hydraulics in rear boot lid has given way.
Does anyone know why this has occurred?
My boot now weighs like a ton without the hydraulics.

Thanks 2006 4.4 HSE, Java black, Alpaca beige int, super charged grill and vents, dvd headrest, fridge, bluetooth, etc
Fully colour coded as per overfinch spec.
Overfinch twin exhaust tips, 22" overfinch supersport wheels.

If your car is still under warranty, time for a trip to your dealer who should replace them Very Happy

There was a problem with some of the early struts, I guess they have simply given up.

If you search under my posts I had similar a couple of months ago, one gas strutt failed on the main door, fixed under warranty and now it is like the shuttle taking off Shocked Shocked

It's a great feature although Mrs ST can only just reach the button on the underside of the tailgate when it's fully raised! Rolling with laughter
