Body shaking, is it normal?

I just joined this forum and finally clicked on this 'technical" section which I've been afraid of getting in due to LR's reputation.

Mine is 09 RRS TDV6 and was manufactured in 2009. It is NOT equiped with DR though(Korean spec). Here are my questions.

--> After the car is parked and running for more than 10 min, sometimes I feel the car body(specially rear part) shakes from side to side. First, I thought another car bumped into mine lightly.

Since I'm newbie, I would like to ask youguys few more questions.

1. Is there a site that has information about recalls?

2. Should I worry about bushings and joints?

3. Is it normal of getting lots of break dust?

4. Is there anythings I should know about problems I may run into?

Thank you much.

Sounds like the air suspension moving/settling.......not been a problem that I know off. Unless you are parked on uneven ground whereupon the car will attempt to keep itself level by making adjustments to the air suspension. eg. mine settles when I turn it off momentarily to refuel or I'm stopped on a slope

Bushes/ball joints could become a problem but there is a fix that your dealer should know about.

Brake dust is normal I'm afraid. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Just get their insurance details, telephone number and as much information as possible.

Seriously take a bit of time to read through this site - there are 3 or 4 issues such as faulty sensors, the suspension knocking, leaking drainage tubes etc but nothing too serious. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Thanks guys.

Body shaking only happens when the engine is fully warmed up. So, I was thinking it happens when the cooler is going. Car was sitting on flat road so I don't think it was related to air sus. And it was more like light shaking than "adjusting" feeling. I didn't know you could turn off air sus though.

I thought sus knocking was only related to RRS with DR.

Well, I got a lot to cover on this site. Hopefully I don't have to use the info learned from the site. My previous vehicle was Infiniti FX and it was trouble free except rocking seat(I thought RRS's having similar problem).

i think mine does this.. i'm still waiting for my air suspension to be fixed. On several occasions I have been sat in the car, parked but with engine running, and it feels almost like a strong gust of wind hit the car - it shakes. I've also noticed on occasion when I get out of the car (engine off) and lock it, a 'hiss' from the air suspension, as if it is readjusting.

You got it, right! That's exactly how I felt. Maybe engine was running for overheat and suddenly slows down?? Not sure. Question I'll ask the dealer service dept next time.

I think that "hiss" sound is normal though.
