The Sat Nav usually offers you 3 routes to be broken down as follows:

Yeah, but, this A road was not an option. And this is by far the fastest and shorted route 10miles shorter and probably 10 mins minimum. |

is the TMC showing any accident/roadworks or anything simular, which may cause it the think the road is at a stand still? |

If the A road was not an option, then pass...........maybe it has intelligence to learn or something.........somewhere in the settings is preferences for routes types which may help......de-select the ones you don't want and select A-roads only and see if she picks it up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Imho......I have to agree with you. Satnav is good, but sometimes you have to let your own inbuilt compass do its work....and then having made the decision to temporaily ignore the nav let it catch up and sort its self out.

This is an issue with all the Satnavs I've ever had... sometimes it proves that humans will never be overtaken by computers in terms of thinking ability

To get into London from where I live is quickest by using the A3 but the RRS sat nav always insists on directing me onto the M25 and up the M4 a journey that would take twice as long. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

trying to get home from the Excel yesterday, the Treg NAV just couldn't make its mind up due to so many queue's in and around the area - also it kept on indicating me a parallel road so all the directions were useless |

Had the same probs. Coming up from the south to the midlands the A34 is never given as an option though it is the quickest. Tried everything on the settings, makes no difference.

I've used many different Sat Nav's over the years and i'm afraid to say that the LR one we have in the RRS is quite simply one of the worst when it comes to being able to find the "real" shortest or quickest route. One of the best I ever had was my old Garmin Streetpilot III. Odd that it uses the same software as the LR system but seems to get the routes correct, based on your choices, nearly every time. My LR system will offer completely different routes on the outward and return journey between the same points, even though I haven't changed any of the parameters Go figure LR/Navtech really should sort this out since the RRS is a bloomin expensive car - A 5 year old system like my Garmin or a cheapo entry level Tom Tom really shouldn't have a patch on the expensive LR system - Christ, even the LR 2008 update DVD costs more than the entire TomTom It's a big Yaboo Sucks to LR on this one 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
