Would I be foolish running a S/C on mid grade fuel instead of premium (aka VPower and the like) ?

Its a wee bit cheaper and if it works ok then I will give it a go ...

Anybody have experience using 89octane petrol (Gas)

I think it says that in the UK user guide...but not sure what the US requirement mght be, if it's even different.

i have been on mid gazoil and was very happy to get back to high grade oil.

mid range gaz will have your ngine be less responsive. trust me you gain little money but you loose big pleasure.

adrian, my contract says that if I use anything less than premium gasoline it could void some warranty coverage. Used to be the same with my bummer...I mean bimmer.

I have run into low fuel a couple of times and had to use 89, almost all the time 93 ( this are US specs)
What i have come to evalaute is:
Better mileage on better fuel ALMOST equal as mileage on lower quality fuel.
Example= Cheaper fuel= 5% less mielage and pricing, GOOD fuel= 3-4% better mielage at a 7% difference.
Engine will adjust fuel/air timing on better fueling and viceversa on lower fuels.

My thinking went this way:
As I used premium fuel, plus Nitrous additive or 5 gallons VP fuel, TOP speed was achieved better and faster.
Lower fuel: More time to get higher speed, couldnt get to top speed most of the times.
Good fuel is better power in hotter weather, even better in colder nights, or hasnt anyone notice the difference in their SC?

I reset learning values of my fueling system in my SC when I do street race or track, even better results are when I have been using VP fuel for some 500 kn and computer adapts to it.
Satrange thing is that when I fill it up with 109 octane, engine doesnt like having such high grade fuel, weird!!!!

Anyways, always add the K&N intake air filter and dont run so hard your engine on cheap fuel, better grade is better care for your car.
DEALER WARRANTY VOID IF YOU DONT USE PREMIUM FUEL? SOUNDS STUPID, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HEARD IT BEFORE IN BUMMERS, PORSHIS AND MERSHEDES!

And fuel down here in Dominican republic is about 6.5 US a gallon of 91.
VP 109 is US$20 a gallon.
SUCKS TO HAVE TO FILL UP A TANK EVERY 160KM!!
FAST RUN, FAST FILLUP, FATS EMPTY OF BANK ACCOUNTS!!
