| Your alternator may have taken the battery with it when it died. It might be worth having the battery tested and replaced if necessary. With any luck, your issues might be resolved with a new battery. |

3.0 cannot blank the EGR, as they are needed as part of the DPF regeneration...
Personally, never seen a faulty 3.0 EGR valve yet...

Can someone educate me please, I have been led to believe that the 3.0ltr TDV6 has vacuum operated EGR valves that are far less of a problem than the electronically activated ones on the 2.7.

That's my understanding. Although the engines were capable of complying with Euro 6 before that date and the emissions were the same, if registered before 01/09/15, they were classified as Euro 5.
