Bunch of sharks !! Shocked

Well, main dealer servicing consists mostly of driving the car in, washing it, and parking it outside again.

Were the binding brakes just a case of rusty discs, or wa ...

This sounds like a classic head gasket fault, but in these modern times, a water cooled EGR might be the source of the problem. If you have increased steam from one bank of cylinders, then the water i ...

There are two issues here.

The first is the transmission, which shifts down the gears sequentialy as you slow down. It does produce a snatch which did not happen on the old shape L320 RRS. It is on ...

or in other words, just the Euro 6 engines.

At Euro 5, DPF was effectively mandatory (the limit being 0.005grammes/km particulate) but NOx could be controlled by EGR alone.

At Euro 6 it is a ver ...

The DPF is upstream of the SCR catalyst, so that would be unaffected by water. However, there will be NOx sensors both upstream and downstream of the SCR catalyst, so these would read zero NOx reducti ...

I agree.

Do you remember the advice to not stop your engine immediately after driving at speed, so as not to cut the oil supply to the turbos? Oh...and then someone put stop-start on to save 1% CO2 ...

in most, if not all, of the accounts I have read, the driver was able to coast to a stop. Still quite scary and dangerous if this happens when you're doing high speeds overtaking traffic in the fast l ...

Yes, I would add about a litre to bring that up to the max. Make sure you use the correct spec, C1 or C2 oil to protect the DPF.

Apologies for hijacking this thread, but does anyone know how to reset the service indicator on a 2014 L494? Can it be done on the car alone, or does it require a diagnostic tool?

Thanks
Adam..

I don`t think OE spec is any guarantee when it comes to tyres. They are largely bought on price.

My car is on OE Michelin and the turn-in is rubbish and the wet grip is poor too. I made some improv ...

I changed my much loved 2005 L320 2.7 V6 HSE for a 2014 L494 3.0 V6 HSE last year and I am very disappointed with that too. It does everything that the old car did, but less well.

I wish I had kept ...

Hello

Does any body happen to know if the 3.0 V6 diesel-electric hybrid uses a Euro 5 or Euro 6 engine?

In particular I am thinking about one registered in March 2015.

Thanks
