How do you brake only one front/rear wheel? 
If you're regularly off-road, you can get uneven wear via the traction control operation. particularly if you drive the same route all the time.

When I use my Windows-based HTC, it does this intermittently and the only solution seems to be to reboot the phone. Hasn't happened with my Android phone (HTC Desire) yet.

One problem is the clearance between the front upper control arm and the tyre. No way will it fit a 2010 model. Doubt it would fit the earlier ones either - there's not much clearance with 285's on.

There is an emergency release procedure. I know how it's done in a D3, but for the RRS, if it's not outlined in the manual, try the GTR online.
