Do you mean the grey smooth plastic piece that you take out to change the tail light? I think the clips are fixed in them right?

I just remember breaking one when I swapped to glohh lights and having to buy a new plastic piece. Those things are a pain to put back in. 2016 SCV8 Dynamic - Firenze Red/Pimento

A picture of the exact location on the vehicle would help.

the part fits in gutter where tailgate sits when closed ,not on tailgate side of course on body side ,there are actually five plastic trims, top part ,right /left and the two small pieces that you remove to get to the taillight bolts to remove ,

Is this illustration showing the parts? as I think there may be a metal spring clip as well, which is not shown in the parts list.

I think this may be the actual plastic/nylon clip you are looking for, but wouldn't have a clue where to obtain them as L/R don't appear to sell them separately, but will sell you the whole piece of trim with them fitted for around forty odd quid, which really doesn't come as a great surprise with L/R. Very similar to "B" although they are spring steel but at a £1.00 each might be worth a try I suppose.

There are a few of these style clips used by L/R. Clip "B" is used on some of the plastic trim parts on the RRS2 dash panels, measures 8.5 x 16 x 1.7. Clip "A" is used on numerous places on the RRS1 but not listed as used on the 2 but might work, have a few of them here somewhere so will measure and add the size. "C" is on the RRS1 but not sure if it is on the 2 as well.

Cheers
