Here are pictures from my Head Unit Installation. I replaced the factory head unit on my 06, with the new pioneer AVH 4000NEX with AppRadio support and a ton of other really cool features. And I was able to keep the factory NAV screen without running or extending the fibre optic cables. Yes, its possible, and very easy too.
