Yes for the most part if you have a good supportive seat Tony, I've been on many Family offroad days and I don't know what it is but most babies just seem to sleep through the exciting bits and wake up when the engine stops!

Friend of mine has 3 baby seats across the back seat of his Defender 110 so in an RRS the ride should be a lot smoother for them!
