SH** another damn recall!! check this out..

Tuesday 20th December 2005

Recall No. 3 for Disco

Things certainly come in threes for Land Rover Discovery owners! The 4x4 maker has issued the third recall on the SUV in a month.

More than 260 Disco and Range Rover Sport models are affected by the latest alert, which

was launched after it was discovered that a second row seatbelt mounting might not be effective in an accident. Sister company Jaguar is also recalling 109 XJs and S-Types over a potentially faulty automatic gearbox.

As per autoexpress website, Tues 20th Dec.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is quite serious so guess its better to be safe then sorry.

You can check recalls out at
http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp
http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/recalls/index.jsp

However I cannot now find this or the past recalls on the Vosa site! Matt

Land Rover Call..

Just spoke to my supplying dealer, and gave him my reg number.
he said there had been a recall notice issued yesterday for a small number of cars, mainly disco3's and that there was no further information as of yet.

Searching on my numberplate/vin would not yield any result as of yet,
the procedure comes from LR head office, they find the cars based on VINS, send the parts to the supplying dealer and then send out bulletins to each owner to take their car into the dealer where the parts have been allocated out to.

So, no further news as of yet on this, guess we will have to wait and see if the dreaded letter lands on the mat!

No, I went looking for the gearbox recall on the VOSA site the other day and could no longer find it. The URLs in the post about the original recalls no longer work either.
